Camp and all that stuff...

Best wishes to everyone on camp this week. I hope that the weather is kind and the flying fox is not too high. Hopefully, and my class will know about this, there will be no phospherescent writing on the ceiling above your bunk at night... Let your thoughts be known on the Wall Wisher. Homework Term 2 Week 1

Due to camp next week, there will be no homework grid this week. However, you have two tasks to complete by Friday, April 30. 1) Take notes in your science book about your findings from the Catchment Detox game. You should be able to clearly explain the effects of particular actions upon a catchment. 2) With your small group, continue to research your catchment issue. Prepare a presentation to teach the class about your issue. This may involve an oral presentation, photos, online presentations or simulations, class experiments or any other form that you believe will help educate us.

Catchment Detox

Congratulations! You have been assigned the task of looking after the well being of the local catchment as well as developing the local region. Throughout the course of the simulation, it is your goal to build the local population to a minimum of 20,000 residents. Take note of what impact your decisions have on the catchment (both positive and negative) and record these in your science book. Your notes should include what you have learnt about catchments and how human interaction can impact upon them and are due by Friday, April 30.
*Hint* - Your PDA will give you some advice as to the impact of particular actions.
As an added incentive, post a comment below with your score for the game and we'll have a year level competition.
